View Full Version : Races of Middle Earth - character - STIPEN
stipen 01-14-2003, 10:35 PM I'm in too!!!
here's my concept: a "DWELF"
I know it's not very original, but that's all that came up to me.
Child of a forbiden union between and a female elf and a dwarf,
he lives hidden in the hoods, rejected by his parent's both races.
he's smaller than an elf and taller than a dwarf.
he can handle the axe as well as the arc...he's an accurate and stealth hunter!

I love the style of the concept. Is the final product going to be that type of "cell shaded" style? I think that would be very unique.
Either way, great concept! :airguitar

Great model, you've got a really nice cartoon style going in your work.
However, I don't think it has any place in the Lord of the Rings world. I've seen some of your other work and you have clearly proven that you can create good cartoon designs. I would have liked to see you try a new style on this challenge. It would have been a chance to show some versatility by creating something more realistic and in keeping with the films.

As usual Stipen,it's so very cool, full of the all original "Stipen style" excellent.I would not like to see another style from you. That would be like too much of everything else.I like your own style,it's always different but still keeping within your own style. Always one of the best with every challenge, and again with this one. :applause:
It would be nice to see all of your creations in one scene someday,a group picture perhaps in a small but nice detailed set.
Keep up the fine work. It's always soooo nice to see your creations of original art.

just wanna say that this model is very very fine indeed
its great to see work that steps away from the quasi realistic style that so many 3d pieces in this comp have.
i have to say that the hair on this puppy is fantastic:
big hair :buttrock:
makes me wish i had gone for a cleener style :p : the detailing on my model is taking me soo long: i never imagined it could all be soo time consuming!
well back to it,
well done mate. this really is one of the best characters: its hard to make something that stands out in so many entries and you have succeeded. great stuff!

I'm sorry I really don't have the time to work on "Sonic" ( pabbloz I like the name....maybe the hair !!!)

oh, thanks for posing him, master Stipen, for a moment I thought you were quitting...
I like that pose though, give him a quick photoshop background and you're done, just in case you don't have the time, or you don't come up with a better pose.
The only thing that bugs me a bit, is Soinic's hair ;) It doesn't really fit with the rest of the character, looks almost like a wig, like if it needed a bit more detail.
I don't know if you had any kind of background in mind, (seems to me that you don't like modeling backgrounds much, right?), so knowing your artwork, I don't think this is going to look unfinished.
Fantastic job, as always. One of my favorites.
Cool character...cool pose...cool render....cool stipen logo.......well...u rox......  :buttrock: ......one of the best!

Wow! Yes! Bravo Stipen! You've made it again! another great character for your portfolio!
I really like all the desing-modelling, that neck, that hair, clothes, legs, hands! really well done!
Personally, I like very much the hair and I think it fits greatly with the rest (sorry Frinsklen! ;)), although I'm agree about a photoshop background (and some little rocks on the ground!).
And maybe you can use some flex (bend,...) modifiers to make the hair less "recently modelled" :)
But great! you will have my vote for sure! because this is the style I like.
Ouch! I forgot add a joke or similar! I'm not the same! :D
