View Full Version : Alpha maps and Opacity [Max 5]
erilaz 01-14-2003, 09:58 PM I'm using a diffuse texture with an alpha channel, and I want to see the opacity the alpha channel creates when I render. Is there any way to do this just using diffuse and not using it as an opacity map?

Nope.
Alpha channels are for games. Max needs opacity. An "alpha" channel in max is the opacity slot.

just load the mat into the opacity channel and use the alpha channel for its data

What he said.
Should work like a charm.
I need to be more concise.
Good luck, man.

Ick... I didn't want to do it that way. I'm using the alpha channel for a game export, but I wanted to review it in render (because it's quicker than exporting!). Ah well, guess I'll just have to do it the long way!
Ta guys.
