Evening!

I was fooling around with dynamics when it came to me, I was going to make some text having a slimy "jello" effect bumping up and down.
So first of i did it real simple by just making a sphere and adding "soft body tag" and creating a floorobject on which the sphere would bump away. Worked like a charm! Now I should be able to to the same with some text:

However, trying to do this with letters created by the following process "Add text spline->Extrude/Loft - Nurbs" will not work. Using "Loftnurbs" will result in a far to complex polygon structure containing alot of triangles which i am not happy to eliminate. And by using extrude nurbs I get a far to simple model not containing enough of information to make it work.

Any idea on how to build a nice "simple" model of a text spline with minimum polygons and without any triangles = D It just wont work using Loftnurbs or Extrudenurbs.

make the spline a little more complex (more points, and the extrude, maybe that will help.

Look at this animation maybe it gets close to your wish.

Maybe ask him how it could work.

that's nice, i want to know how he got unflickering radiosity with the objects moving in the scene (unless it was just whack up the samples).

simply change to stochastic mode

The text will probably move better if you check the "regular grid" box in the caps dialogue and adjust the divisions to suit.
