Title: Deep Space
Name: David Teixidor
Country: Espaņa
Software: Painter, Photoshop, Strata 3D Pro

When I'm designing a spaceship (or any other object) I think it have to have a basic shape easily recognicible .I don't like spaceships with "shape of nothing", with a lot of details that hide a poor design.Sometimes I like that they evoque something but not in a way too obvious. This ship could remind a crab or a lobster but it's not exactly either of them.If someone actually had designed this machine he souldn't make it seem to something intentionally. This kind of things happens accidentally as for example the Concorde than can remind a stork to the viewer .I think the rule, in this cases,is suggesting, not matching something. The vessel was modeled in Strata and the lights added in Photoshop. The Background was rendered in Painter.

Not bad, but remember, if you're trying to impress Science Fiction guys with your futuristic designs, they should have a function. Right now it looks like it will only shoot downward and has landing gear like a helicopter that lands on snow.

I liked the render and detailing, good work :)

Thanks for your comments,Bit Brain and for your attention to my work.

If you remember classic designs of spaceships on sci-fi movies you can notice that when they are in space not always is obvious where they has alocated the landing gear and all the jets.Even some spaceships are designed to be permanently in space and they simply cannot landing. This could happen with the "Discovery" of "2001:A Space Odissey" but in the movie nobody explains this point to us.It also seems fragile and near to break.Maybe it was built directly in space.I think nobody knows.

It's also difficult to imagine the Enterprise of "Star Trek" landing when we see it in space.

Nevertheless I know what you mean.

Thanks again.Sorry for my english.

Truly a sleek design, what sets it off for me is your backdrop, love your nebula design and your tableau of color is inviting , fine work David!

I agree a bit with all previous comments. The guns don't really have a function, the design is really sweet and im sure it'll stay alive in space. The colors remind me of something that i cant really remember, but they look reallly cool for sure!

3 stars from me, for the design 2 and for the scene 1.

When ever I see here a still image of a spaceship, it is mostly cheesy and poorly executed.
However, your is not like this.
I really like this image.

What I like the most is the color scheme and balance in it.
It plays very well along the lines and flow of the elements being shown.
I really like it, cogratulations.
I know I'm late for this:
five stars * * * * *
