hey im wrecking my brain trying to "freeze" an instance ie make it into a model on its own. Like in soft|3D you would use the "expand" funtion for. I cant find this option anywhere.

I don't think you can "expand" an instance in XSI to a model on its own yet (make a request)
A fairly simple replace script could probably be written, taking the transforms applied to the instance and applying them to a clone or duplicate of the orginal model.
