.1 Why are so many game textures green? I can understand if it's military based, but even non military based textures all seem on the greenish side. I just don't get it.

2. How to make good bullet holes?

3. A good way to make damaged text, as in the example. I've been using grunge maps, selecting the blacks, moving the selection to the text layer and deleting. But that usually takes too much away. There's got to be a better way to do it.

I've been madly working on my texturing skills, but these questions don't seem to have any answers easily available.

As far as the first two I don't really know, I've never tried.

But to make some cool damaged text you can click on your text layer and go to Layer > layer masks > reveal all. Then paint on top with pure black to take parts away (It's an easy non-destructive way to degrade your layers). You can use a one pixel brush to simulate scratches, and use a grungy brush with a slight scatter to take larger chunks away.

hope this helps.
