View Full Version : Realistic eyebrows using HAIR
HOCATKA 06-23-2006, 05:49 PM Hello,
is there any tutorial how to make _realistic_ eyebrows using HAIR plugin?
In particular, I am having difficulty controlling the pricese shape of the eyebrow area, and density of hairs at the end of it. It looks square. Is there a way to shape it better without subdividing into smaller polygons?
Thank you

with hair youdont need to stickto polygon selections, so: unroot your guides, move them where you want them, maybe add a few and root them again.
I dont think there is a tutorial for this very specific thing.
another advice:
IMHO brows look best if you lay a base foundation as texture and thenn palce your hairs on top of that-- but this aof course is only OK if youdont want to zoom into the eyebrow.
For your specific problem: maybe show some pics, or best: upload a simplified file with your brows here.

IMO the best way to control hair placement is to use a bitmap in the hair material's density tab.

I agree with Adam. Controlling the density with bitmaps works really well especially since the density of the brow differs along its lenth.

Yep, thanks, bitmaps for Density/Scale produced the desired result.
Thank you!
