CGTalk - Futuristic Katana

Greetings all
First of all AWESOME stuff on this forum and I love the LOTR contest.
Some incredibly good designs in there.

Thats a Katana called "Samurai 3000" from United Cutlery that I did out of boredom.
Its not finished yet a little bit of modelling left to be done.

Did you model it out of your head, or did you use a ref. pic?
