Here at Irrational Games we can boast about taking gaming innovation to the next level. Our recent success at the 2006 E3 convention saw us take out the much coveted ‘Game of the Show’ award for Bioshock by beating the likes of Super Mario for the top honour (IGN, Gamespot and Gamespy).

We have also had the privilege of being awarded the title of ‘IGN Developer of the Year 2005’.

This is the type of exposure and experience you can share by joining our award winning team in our Australian Studio.

Based in the heart of Australia’s national capital, Canberra, we are experiencing booming success in the industry and due to this growth we are in need of a number of talented and passionate individuals to join us.

We are currently seeking the talents and technical expertise of a Visual Effects Coder.

You must have a superb knowledge of C/C++, OO principles, shader language and general rendering technologies that has been demonstrated in recently released console titles.

An acute understanding of the 3D graphics research areas including particles, fluid, fog, cloth and screen space effects along with how to utilize and optimize these technologies in games is essential.

This role will require you to work closely with the art team so a good working knowledge of content creation tools is a big plus, in particular 3DS max & Unreal 3 Editor.

Communicating your specialist knowledge is of utmost importance so you must be a team player who is equally comfortable dealing with creative and technical colleagues.

In return we can offer you the opportunity to put your skills, vision and experience to the test by working on some highly anticipated and exciting projects that we currently have under way. This is a rare chance to play a crucial part in developing a AAA title and to work with some of the best talent in the industry.

Please send your CV and portfolio details to Ali Hinton, Recruitment Manager at ali@irrational.com.au (ali@irrational.com.au)
