View Full Version : Cloth falling on a Ball effect
RoarK 01-14-2003, 10:16 AM yo peeps, im tryin out this stupid dynamics effect in maya , i rem doin it long back in reactor+max, jus this softbody plane falling on a ball, somehow im not able to control the rigidity of the softbody(plane) , the attached image says it all...thx in advance for letting me know what i shud be doing :p

i don't really see the problem here :p
you can assign properties to each cloth and then control the friction etc. to get the desired effect.

Have you put springs on the plane? You need to create a spring system on the plane to put elastic forces into the cloth itself, otherwise yes it will just act as though it's infinitely bendable

whoah... i try this dynamics thing for the first time and .... the cloth just falls through the sphere! it bends and is affected by the sphere but the plane is like water ...the shpere does not stop it. hmmm... changing the "trace depth"does not help.
any suggestions for making this cloth-falls-on-ball newbie effect a reality?? :surprised
