Love the reflections on the pieces. Nice detailing between the checker board tiles. I guess I'll have to make a chess board some day:scream:

It's very pretty. Good job on the chess pieces.

The thing that bothers me the most is the lack of reflections on the chess board. Marble's usually a little reflective. The lack of reflection makes the piece look like they're not sitting on the board. It would also be nice if the lighting emphasised one or two pieces. The knight and the knocked over pawn would be a good choice for the highlighted pieces. Currently the lighting is equally bright on all the pieces, and it has a jumbled effect.

Thanks for the comments. I had reflections on the board and turned them off for faster test renderings and forgot to turn them back on. I'll try to change the lighting to spotlight fewer pieces. I agree it all gets confusing. Also, I had trouble deciding whether to go with a true photo look or a more artsy look. I think I got stuck somewhere in the middle :(
