Gah, it stinks being American, I just can't get inspired by these topics :(
It is fun looking at em though - make em good today guys! hehe
Runecaster, just put your spin on it. It doesn't have to be about soccer. One interpretation could be tossing Europeans onto a velcro'd bulls-eye. ;)

Well I'm euorpean and love football, but Norway f***ed up and didn't get qualified, so I decided to draw my fave player outside Norway, eventhough he isn't a part of Netherlands A-team this year, Edgar Davids. He's so cool^^
ca. 30 minutes, photoshop. (I suck at drawing guys....)

"Evolution Is The Goal"
Time: 20 Minutes
Application: Painter IX
Tools: Vine Charcoal, Pencil (2b), Blender Stump
Evolution, has... Made these a goal of men who care to reproduce.
I'm not sure on if nudity is tolerated in this forum, so... I censored the nipples. If it's cool that I can remove the censorship, I do have another copy I will swap in, if I am allowed. Honestly, I don't think nudity in it self, is wrong or bad. I think purely sexual content is questionable, but, this is a study of the human form.
edit: I swapped in the uncensored version, as it seemed the consensus on #cgsociety on freenode was that if it's not overly sexual for no reason, it's appropriate.

'bout 30 mins, Photoshop
It's probably off the topic, but I'll post it anyway.

protocoldoug - that seems to be the main goal. Enough of this soccer tomfoolary.
hcross - Any person who can draw anything in mspaint is a true artist imo.

heheh, thanks man... i'm not a soccer fan, so i had to take a the wise guy approach just a little bit :)
...also agreed about hcross, he's proving it's the artist -- not the tool :) *thumbs up*

A quickie for warm-up today. One hour in Painter while waiting for the World Cup Games to start today....

This was a duplicate post, board was acting weird and it posted twice. Sorry.

Ashton - I'll take that as a compliment... but don't mistake me for an artist... my goal is to challenge myself to illustrate.
I don't really like soccer and all the pics I found on Google Image just looked weird, to say the least. The way I see it, lack of inspiration is hardly a challenge for an illustrator.
Now I can say I've drawn a soccer picture.
hcross - man! really love your stuff - reminds me of good old Deluxe Paint back on the Amiga days hehe!
It's to warm and sticky over here for anything so heres just a quickie from me I did last night...
PS/wacom about 30min and much blur for cover hehe...

What would be goals without commentators to announce them! When Argentina played Serbia-Montenegro and won 6-0 the french commentators actually stopped commentating for several minutes towards the end of the game. The Argentinian commentator was screaming so loudly there was no point in bothering, really :)
Original size 800x600, about 50 minutes, photoshop+tablet.
I started a sketch yesterday but was interrupted by a phone call and lost track of time, so I started that one instead today.

"he runs up the field, passes off to 13, and its a goal! score for the Aussies"

He shoots, he scores, goal!!
May-lea : Yeah, what would goals be without someone screamin it. Great sketch by the way!
daw: Awesome blur effects, seems he missed the ball! ...Is that blood?
Coyoteguy : Loving the mood in that guy's face, I can see he's bending sideways to actually reach for the ball.
PREDAT0R : Strangely unique, I like it!
protocoldouge : This one is awesome, good job man! I like how the idea doesn't relate to soccer much, and I like the Evolution is the goal' Idea.
hcross : I'm beginning to like you're style in MS paint, and the pose is awesome. Simply dramatizes the scoring.
ChristinaRH : That is the feeling people get after scoring goals! You captured it well.
"..Got the Power!"
2.5-3 Hours, I'd say between. Photoshop, WACOM Graphire 3
