"Nike co-founder and chairman Phil Knight has purchased 30 acres of land south of Portland, Ore., to house a state-of-the-art campus for his burgeoning computer animation studio.
The future site, set to open in 2008, will house Laika Entertainment and its growing roster of talent and productions.
"Just as we anticipate our films will look like no others before them, so too will this campus make a bold and distinct architectural statement," Knight said in a statement."

Sounds pretty good... although I get the bad feeling of Fox Studios in Phoenix regarding timing of opening up a full fledged studio.
I believe Phil Knights son works at Laika.

I just hope within the next year or so my skills and demo reel get better so I can work there, considering I live in the area. They are going to expand to 400 employees over the next few years so I guess talk about being in the right place at the right time.

Oregon would be a great place to work, almost as cool as working in, say, New Zealand!

Ah finally, we definitely have a weak CG scene in comparison to everyone around us(seattle, vancouver, cali). Hopefully this will really put us on the map.

Lol - good call - pictured this little hobbit with shifty eyes yelling New Zealand! Tu Rah! and running away - sad i know but humerous.
Speaking of - i was watching a thing on TV the other day on Wetta Digital - its a tiny building. Whats it like working there (ne1?)
