"Eleperiannath", the Halfling Elves

They are small, lithe creatures that stand at about four feet, with pointed ears, hairy feet, and a penchant for pipe-weed. They are slim but strong, wielding bows and short swords in the defense of their homes, which are usually situated in lightly forested areas. Preferring to live in snug holes in the ground than in trees, they are as comfortable slipping along silently in the trail of a party of orcs as they are sharing a drink in a local pub. The majority of the Halfling Elves live near Rhudaur, east of the Misty Mountains, where they have tense relations with Trolls but live in harmony with the Beornings and local elves. Their origin is likely from interbreeding between hobbits left behind in the Misty Mountains during the halfling exodus and elven hunters of the Ettenmoor Trolls, but no such history is actually recorded in the scrolls of the wise.

No concept sketches yet, but I'll hopefully come up with something soon. For now, I've started working on their armor... here's a wip.

Update on the armor... lots of work still left to do on it. I'm going to take it easy on this one, I have plenty of time to add lots of detail :)

Swords are very rough... and the attachment is not finalized.

I like it. So was it a male Hobbit/female Elf or a male Elf/female Hobbit that started it. Mmmm, it was the chicken.

That's looking good so far - I like the design :)
The swords should be a little bulkier though - their blades are too thin, in my opinion.

BlueCougar - don't ask me, there's a reason I'm vague with their history ;)

Leigh - noted on the swords. I based them on what I recall Arwen's sword blade looked like, thin and long. Keep in mind that these are not as long as they appear, though, and that they are sort of placeholders for now.

Bit of an update:

[EDIT] updated below.

Still pretty rough. Need to get proportions right, if anybody has a hobbit character sheet I'd be eternally grateful. Will probably start on the face next though.

Looking like a good solid start TimothyD.....Waiting for more updates. For some reason little creatures (under 4 feet)..are more scary to me then the bigger guys. Is he going to be creepy or handsome??

Fetus23 - thanks! He'll be handsome, as he's from a mostly "good" race. They aren't exactly kind to evil creatures, though, so at times he may look pretty fearsome.

Boots!

dies-irae - I'm still working on the proportions, but keep in mind that he's a good two feet shorter than your average human.

Boots are done!

Yes Yes!..He's turning out to be quite handsome timothyD :)...Not sure what your plan is with the armor but some rivets, seams and a fancy design could work nicely..
Keeep going!! :wip:

Thanks Fetus! The armor will probably be textured fairly elaborately, with an emphasis on Elven styling.

Here's an update.
