Hi all,

I have been working on a redesign of Colonel Mustard for a little while now. It is for a uni project where the guidelines are:
6,000 verts
textures max 512 32bit
3x colour, 3x bump, 3x spec

here is what I have so far:

The deadline was last friday, but I'm planning on working on it a bit more. I thought that your qrits could help me improve it :)

Looks great! I'm not so sure I like the hair texture; it looks kind of muddy and blurry. Plus that weird polygon on hsi chin might screw things up if that part of his face needs to deform. Other than that, though, the design and modelling are awesome.

This is cool. Besides what is already mentioned, the topology around his neck is looking a little messy. I'd stay away from a tie/shirt color that echoes Prof Plum. You may want to add cufflinks and little stretches to where his buttons are.

Is that really 6000 verts???can u tell me the poly count?.. I feel u can reduces the polys from some area and give the hair some more polys to give them more defination... other than that.. it looks amazing

a vert limit? thats kinda wierd you sure you dont mean tri limit? wither way awesome work like the style, definatly sharpen the hair and add some detail to it. :D nice

Thank you for your comments. In the brief we were given for this project the vertex count was fairly generous, it's apparently supposed to be for a next gen character. Atm I am on 5999 verts, including the cane and candlestick, which is equivalent to 5760 polys. I haven't been that efficient with the polys so I think I probably could reduce in a number of places without too much hassle and add some to the hair.

Thats a great model. I love the facial features and the kinda snarly look he's got going on.

If I were to make any suggestions I would say make the medals on his chest a little bigger, make more of a feature out of them

Other than that its brilliant
