I would like to show you my last Short which production ended in June 2006

Hey Julien. I'm surprised nobody replied to this yet. I'm only about one third in downoading the short, but so far, visually it looks great. :D Character animation is a bit stiff and floaty to my taste, though. Still, a pleasure to watch, models and textures really look nice. :D

I don't know if anybody else is having a problem, but I couldn't link to the Quicktime file. Perhaps you have a broken link?

no i didn't have any problem. maybe you should try one more time? ;)

hello u got a really nice piece here.
I love your style and art direction.
as harmonic01 said the animation could be better.
I am not an animator but I can see that ur animation could be better.
(sorry I can't give u specific suggestion. I am sure actual animators have more things to say)
I am sure if you fix ur animation it will be a really great beautiful piece.
I really like the textures modeling and the idea of ur piece.

Great job man.. keep working on it..

You are the first with this problem. Try this link (http://www.chryseis.be/%7Ejuliend/Video/TWOH_Julien_Dykmans_720.mov) perhaps.

Be patient, it's 50Mo to download!

And thx for your comments! It's great to hear this.

hello Julien. first of all i'd like to say i've enjoyed watching your short very much.
the design is beautiful and the modeling/texturing/rendering are superb. (even
the website you've made for the links is very simple and well designed).
i do agree with harmonic01 that the animation needs some more work. i mean the timing is good but the movment is very stiff at some points.
the music is a bit too melodramatic for my taste. and another thing is the long fade outs between the day and night scenes (i was very close to thinking the short is over :) at some point).

overall its a beautifuly designed short with a good simple story. i know how hard it is to creat a short movie i've been working on one myself for 3 months and i just cant see the end of it.

good luck
itay

Hi Julien,

Great film! :) I love it. Has alot of spirit. I love the music by Satie in it. One of my favorite composer and inspirations for my own compositions, aside from Debussy and alot of others.

Can't wait to see what your next project will be!

Cheers,

That link worked Julien. Very nice! I love the style and feel of it. Textures look really good! I concur with the animation needing a bit more in it. It seemed to slow maybe and like there wasn't enough movement of the character. The puppy at the end was pretty good though. I love how just before he jumps onto the cart its legs pick up speed. Pretty small thing, but it really ads to the realism of the jump. Overall it was a very nice piece and very fun to watch! Good job and keep it up!

Julien,

this looks really nice...i like your environment and the feel of the little town. Some of the dynamic motion on the cart seemed a bit uniform and could probably be broken up a bit...and i think the main character could use a bit more weight...but well done in completing it. I really liked the little dog run and jump at the end...definitely had the quick puppy feel.

~Rock on.
