Hello!
I have just finished modelling my first car.
Now I need some advice how to create a realistic glass material for the windscreen.
I'm using 3ds Max 8 and Mental Ray.
Can anyone help me with this?

erm maybe make it entirely transparent but with a cubemap so all you see is reflection

In MAX, use the default raytrace clear glass material, but reduce the refraction level and increase the sharpness of the specularity, not the spec level itself, just the glossiness. Then play with reflectivity until you get a result you like. Or try falloff in the reflection slot. You might also try an HDR file in the environment slot but that depends on where you're going to put the car. Clean glass is fairly easy. Dirty glass is what I'm having problems with.
