Oh God, please someone have the answer to this.....I have a really sweet flatscreen monitor and arm I have modelled in Max5 which needs to be inserted into Return to castle Wolfenstein...which needs an MD3 file extension for the model(got that done)and of course UV mapped and Textured.
Problem is that at 2517 verts on a surface(that is the gist of the error message!)(I am sure radient is looking at the whole model and counting verts even though they are seperate pieces of geometry making up the whole)my editor, GtKRadient is not letting me compile my map coz of the model!!!!
When setting up the model for UV mapping I had optimised all geometry in the modifier stack.
Please tell me there is a way to vastly reduce the number of verts!!!
I am a complete noob in Max(I map using Radient) so please keep that in mind if you think you can help!!!!
Thanks a lot for any feedback you can give me on this...I really do appreciate it!!!!!:applause:

the 'multires' modifier would probably be your best bet.
you can specify how many verts you want your mesh to be and it calculates the new mesh for you... results are not always 100% but give it a shot.

another one you could try is the 'optimize' modifier. less options, but basically does the same..

good luck!
