View Full Version : Yellowstone errupts as seen from a small town

Hi all, I have been posting at mattepainting.org, but I thought I would start putting some things on this site as well. Here is a piece I did which is supposed to represent the view of the yellowstone super volcano erupting seen from the edge of a small town some distance away. I put in the woman just as an experiment but I may need to add some building damage due to the magnitude of the explosion and the proximity to the town and either "loose the girl" or at least have her knocked off her feet. Any thoughts, comments or critiques are welcome.

Another update. Over 200 views and no comments or crits. I'm somewhat disapointed. Nevertheless, I've received alot of great crits and comments on other sites. Especially LABORGANIKA.

man got you from laborganika.but there was a great conversation about being a matte painter etc. and suggestions by great artists..i didn't want to interrupt dialog there.now i can give a crit here.
your job is really cool and with the updates (i haven't see latest)
the only thing bothers me is smoke's left top.it seems like pressed at the corner but right of the smoke got a volume.
anyway cool job.
