View Full Version : Races of Middle Earth - Character - Skygunner
skygunner 01-13-2003, 05:24 PM The Undead Violator on Flesh Beast -
The Flesh Beast has an insatiable appetite for anything that breathes, be it man, elf or ork. (Hobbits are just a waste of energy, too little meat). Ironically, the only ones who can ride the Flesh Beast are those who have foolishly tried to slay it. Fallen warriors of middle earth, reborn as undead, are cursed to appease the undiminishing hunger of the Flesh Beast for all of eternity. The Violators adorn themselves with the armor of their past lives, but have been known to scavenge off of the living.

more details coming soon, but i'm just rounding out the proportions right now. :hmm:
A nice idea. :)
Maybe you could slim down his hips a bit, to butch him up.
Other than that, great. Both the Violator and its steed look interesting.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I'm slowly getting there. I thinned down the thighs just a tad. will be adding his hands (claws) soon along with more subtle detail to the armor and feet.

cool, but the Flesh beast on the sketch doesn't look that mean :hmm:

yeah, you're right. the pic of the beast doesn't look as mean as the description. Im going to have to make it look more vicious. I also imagine that it will be much larger too.

So I reworked the head to make it more skeletal, thus more undead like. Will be reworking helmet and the rest of the armor as well as adding details as well. :p

The armour looks spot on dude.
But I would dirty up the skin on the violator. Don't look undead enough to me. Might look cool with a festering wound. :airguitar
:lightbulb Also a saddle would be cool. At the moment he looks like he'll fall of the second his ride breaks into a run.

Thanks for the comments Boromir.
I'm definitely going to build a saddle and some armor for the beast. I will be reworking a lot of the textures as well.

I really like what you have done for this challange.both models have nice proportions and would fit into the LOTR easily.
those are great steel textures.
are you going to do some more to him, like animate them, 3 or 4 would look good running in a group.

Thanks Dogbreath. :)
Yes, I plan on adding more detail and setting it up for animation. I think I need to put a lot more time into the textures as well as adding more modeling detail and what not. Of course if it runs fast enough, people won't notice anyway.
One of my inspirations for the undead violator/flesh beast was the Ork Raider unit from Warcraft III which looks really cool running in packs. However, I was thinking the size of the flesh beast might keep it from running too fast. I guess I'll try and see. If it looks odd, I'll slow down the animation. I'll post the animation as well, assuming it's decent enough to show. ;)
