Title: Hangar Area - Sci Fi
Name: Stu Winders
Country: New Zealand
Software: BodyPaint, CINEMA 4D, Photoshop

This is a project I have been working on off and on for quite some time now.

I was going for a fusion between Aliens,Star Trek, and a touch of The Matrix. I wanted it to look like a semi believable functional area .

Everything was modeled and textured in Cinema 4d using native c4d materials. The ship was unwrapped in Bodypaint for painting and finished up in photoshop.

The image was rendered out in 32 bit passes. The passes were then tweaked in Photoshop and copies saved as 16bit.

The things I would most like critique on are the lighting and the texturing.

Thanks

Stu.

Hi kiwi...
I like the textures and the lighting of your work!
Although the textures arenīt 100 % realistic...
But it looks very good.

I like it a lot. 4 stars!

Wow this is great I love it is not 100% realistic but that is what I like about it.
I like to see moore renders of it.
Keep the great job going.

Cool pic. Would look great if you could add some more focus to the pic. Maybe, a little less contrast in the background would bring out ship more. The values all feel the same across the whole picture.

Easy to remedy with photoshop and a duplicate of the final image with its layer property set to difference. Lower the transparency and erase out the areas that you want to stand out.

good job

Thanks guys.

Ya it still needs some work I can see that now with fresh eyes.I have a bad habit of not taking a break and coming back to it later.

I am rebuilding the back wall its just to busy.I am also going to tweak the lighting.

Thanks for that tip BFWingard3

Hi, i like that PictureBut...
Add some more details to the Ship. Because it is so huge and the most important element.
And the yellow robots are a bit to symetrical, all have the same position it could add a bit more realism if you put them in different poses.
First i thougt the half-image was mirrored in PhotoShop or something. Allmost everything runs exactly through the middle of the pic. Even the Ships Texture is mirrored there...
Continue your work! I think it has potencial.

Heres the update to the background for the previous image. The ship will be replaced again next.

I like this background a lot more then the previous one.
