CGTalk - Joint rotation problem

I've set keyframes on a joints rotation, but in the graph editor the tangent handles are not selectable - anyone have any idea why this might be? I can move and scale the keys in the graph editor just fine, but when i try and select one of the handles it just selects the whole curve! Other keys in the scene act normally - it is just these keys that are playing up.
