View Full Version : Bone Mirror tool in V8

I was going through the Mime tutorial this weekend on the demo version of 8 and I am having a problem. When I mirror the bone in Mocca the mesh goes all whacky when I enable Soft IK. Anyone else run into this?

Also sorry for the newb quiestions but are there options for just regular IK and FK to IK blending? If so is there good info in the docs for setting this up? I dont have access to the manual. I didnt get it with the demo. :shrug:

Before you mirror, make sure you right click the root bone and choose reset bones and say yes to the sub objects question. Then right click and fix bones again once you have mirrored.

There's currently a known bug in Mocca that causes tip effectors to be placed at the bone root instead of the tip. This corrects itself when you push the play animation button, or if you enable automatic redraw. *But*, I've found that if you set up tip effectors before mirroring, the tip effectors on the mirrored section go back to the root and they don't fix themselves automatically. Workaround--don't set up tip effectors until after you have mirrored the bones.
