View Full Version : PluginPreview::DPInstantTree
Katachi 01-13-2003, 03:24 PM Hello,
DPInstantTree is an "Instant Tree Generator" Plugin for Cinema 4D R8. The trees are low-poly and not used for detailed and zoomed views but rahter to fill up your scene, for decoration or for whatever you need to have a tree "quickly".
This isnīt more than a preview and the generator is still in progress, but these are the first results.
Here is a picture created with DPInstantTree:

And another one with several trees:

The last one is an animation that shows how a tree grows. Also animated with DPInstantTree only (Quicktime 6, 1 MB):

wow, looks great, the branched look like they always point up, can we achieve a really circular top type tree, or one of those droopy tree things (dont worry if you cant understand these technical descriptions, i am an experienced treeologist.. :p)

ah, I see. Ok now I understand. Well, I guess this should be possible. This is the best I could get so far. But it shouldnīt be too much work to implement a function that results in your picture. We are still beta.

Soon. Itīs now in the final beta stage. And yes, those dome shaped trees are now possible. This is an example I just made. I will post some more and better examples when tested enough.

It is a new algo that I got finished today. That way a lot of new trees are possible (I guess, didnīt test yet). First interface pictures and a feature list will be available soon on my website at 3D Designer Homepage (http://www.the3ddesigner.de/index_en.html) (now in english and german)
You can already subscribe to my mailinglist on my website to get latest information concerning plugindevelopment.
And yes, the plugin will be commercial. It was a bunch of hard work.

Samir,
About how many polys are in that last example (which looks *good*, btw)?

This last tree has about 20.000 polys. most of them are the leaves that you can specify for yourself. Means you can create an object and use it as leaves. I took a plane with height and width of 15 and 1 sub u and 1 sub v.

i think death was reffering to the type of tree above, and maybe something like a weeping willow? that droppyness, is what i thought of anyways.
btw, looks awesome.
How much exactly will the final sticker price be?
