Hey everyone!
My very first work shown here :)
I never had the guts to show anything else ;)

Anyway, here's the story: i'm really into special effects, and always wanted to do some real person interacting with 3d objects/characters. So i decided to make a little trash film about a friend of mine fighting a troll :)

After 2 or 3 days of modelling, here's what i got
http://www.theweb.com.br/stupidity/archives/troll.jpg
Here's a little rotate (http://www.theweb.com.br/stupidity/archives/troll_almost_final.avi).

The textures are just placeholders, the arms are out of proportion in purpose, there are some modelling tweakings to be made. Also, i don't like the head much. It was made vertex by vertex, with no concept, so it turned out a little crappy :p

So, comment on please, really needing some help.
But don't be too harsh, it's my first highpoly model

Looks basic atm. You should add more details everywhere, especially in the face. I think it can become something really cewl then. And yes, his arms are out of proportion :D

Well yeah it's your fist high-poly model. Keep it up :)

Well thats so much better than my first character. I admire you posting ur first work here - I never would of. Mine were so bad.

But you are off to a great start, cos he is all there. I gave up so many times and never finished them.

What program you use?

Also try using some references pics to get his arms and legs to the right proportions.

hey dudes
thanks for the replies

About the proportions: i want them to be off, i imagined the characters with these huge forearms, that would kind of be dragged by the rest of the body.

About the details: his belt is just a placeholder, i haven't done it yet.
And about the face: could you give me some hints of what kind of details i could give him?

Just remember that if you plan on purposely making exaggerated proportions, then you needa compensate for it. Don't give him long arms and not show shoulder and back muscles, etc...

If you don't correct for exaggeration, then it just looks like you did it accidentally.

thanx neil, that's the kind of advice i'm needing.
I'll make his shoulders broader and add some muscles to his back. (the back isn't really defined...)

i think you can get better definition in his bicep muscle. it looks like you have enough polys to work with. Look at some anatomy and just move those points around. i think he could use some more thickness in the calf muscles.
i agree with the comment of compensating the rest of the body to acomidate for the long arms. for example i think his hands could match the length of his arms. it looks like he has long arms with little hands.
