View Full Version : using texture from "other" program...?
DarkEdge 06-16-2006, 01:25 PM hi all!
i'm wanting to know if you can use a texture map from one program (poser) and use it in max? like if poser had some really good body textures that you wanted to use in max.
thanks!

Sure. If poser can write out a texture to a bitmap, max will happily load that bitmap and you can place it on any object you'd like.

I use Max 7. Most poser textures are templates. I grab the poser texture from the libraries/textures file in poser and move it to a poser file in my max maps. When I import the character into max, I point it to the poser files, or I get the files into the mat editor. I don't do it often because I prefer to make my own textures, but it will work.
Max won't, however, be able to use the opacity mapped hair that poser can now make. It just won't. Dammit.
