How to make extrude value to be always set to 0 (or any other pop-up value)?

for extrude im using duplicate.... strg+D... so dere is no value... :D

I didn't even rember seeing an extrude command. :) I do a CTRL+D and drag out the faces as needed.

BTW, what does strg stand for?
