CGTalk - falling renders

this is totaly impossible i've been trying to render my scene something like 5 times and everytime my max seems to fall down in the middle of the render without even a warning or some kind of message, nothing, it just disappear!:annoyed:
does any1 ever had something like this? i wonder if it is because of max or another program on my computer (XP?)
