CGTalk - Help with manipulators

Hi I'm using Maya learning edition to learn some basics of 3d and I'm working on this car but my manipulators somehow got messed up and I have to zoom my camera out to like 800 on the X axis to even see the X scale/move manipulator!! Is there anyway to get it centered and small again so it's more practical? Thanks

I am not sure I understand the problem, but if you use + and - on the keyboard it will resize your manipulators. Hope this helps.
