Title: still life study
Name: Tristan Meudic
Country: France
Software: Photoshop
(It's not a paintover/retouched photo, i didn't use any photo reference... >> http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/3450/tofowip2sbre6gu.jpg)
This is a still life study realized with the intention of to perfect my "eye" and my perception of the colors/tones/contrasts/etc (it's my first still life study since the ending of my student life). At first i wanted to make an Oil painting, but computer is sometimes more practical.
It takes me a lot of time, however i can't say how many hours.... Photoshop, with the model at the right of my screen.

This is utterly amazing!!!
I just feel the perspective on the camera is a bit extreme. It's just a feeling, I could be wrong.
But just for the sheer quality of the lighting and shading you deserve no less than 5 stars!

thanks everybody,
pap87 >yes perspective is a "bit extreme", but this picture started like a speedpainting before becoming an illustration. I didn't construct the perspective.

You should submit that step-by-step picture into that sticky thread in the 2D WIP section for showing steps in making a picture. That would be awesome, because more people can see it that way.

Tremendous Work! I thank you for showing you step by step, and also your photograph! (awesome) It's always interesting to see a speed sketch taken all the way to illustration level. One thing im working on is my patience to finish some of my sketches. 5 Stars for the work done here!
Happy New Year,
