hi folks,

realtexture.com starts a serie of texture contests. Every 2 months we will offer a small package with a selection of our products for download. The three finest pieces done with this material will be appreciated with a coupon of realtexture-products. Every software package is allowed, also 2d artwork or other traditional techniques are welcome. The current contest, the rules and the package is available at http://www.realtexture.com/contest.html

Wow, I just downloaded and looked at them, great images.

A couple questions:

Are we required to use all of the images in our submission, or is it ok to only use a few?

Are we allowed to alter the images to fit our needs, or are we required to use them as is?

Are these images free to use after the contest, on other personal (non-commercial) projects?

you don't have to use all the images but it should be a dominant part of the final image.
you can use the textures after the contest for personal projects (non commercial) and you can change the textures for the contest to fit them to your imagination.
but we are artists too, so we know what's possible and what not. and it's also for our all pleasure so we don't kick submissions if they are not 100% matching the rules. but it should visible that you have used the textures not only for a small part far far away ;-)
hope this will help, we working on a faq for the forum because we think that 2 pages of rules are boring.
