Title: Wolfsschanze
Name: Stanislav Klabík
Country: Czech Republic
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

Hi,

this is my last work, this is a today´s look of Wolfsschanze/Wolf Lair/Vlčí Doupě is a name of Hitler´s headquarters in the east Poland and place of assasination attempt in 20. July 1944. This scene tooks me about three months of pure work. All is done in 3dsmax, entire scene has about 5 milions faces, for big trees in background used Onyx Tree, and some correction of the branches in Max, other trees are bulit up from branches from Onyx Tree, leaves and other vegetation are self-made, rendering in Maxwell Render beta via plugin, not useless version 1 studio. Textures are done in Photoshop and some color correction in Photoshop.

Big thanks to all cg friends who gaves me a lot of constructive critics and many big big thanks to my friend Peter, thanks man.

Hope you like it.

Here are some close up renders from different angles, not only zoom on main picture, hope you like it :) i forgot to write, that this scene si primary made for main picture above, not for close ups, but i think it would be interesting see some parts of image from different angles.

I used photograph as a reference.

It's one of those works that blow up my mind. Fantastic scene. You've put so much effort in it, I would give you more than five stars, now I'm giving you five. Detailed, perfectly modeled and textured. 8 of 10 "common" people would take it as a photo. And the atmosphere is just great.
Man, just show us "clay" render, I'm sure it's worth seeing it!
And it would be no surprise for me if I see it on frontpage very soon...

daimn mate i like it, nice spring atmosphere, i know similar place like that on your work. anyways i dont like trees so much, i think it will be better if u used bitmap trees...not for far trees but for the closest ones because leafs dont look very realistic. but nice work anyway  btw grass is just amazing

wow, really impressive work - just only little detail: closest trees in upper left corner and middle right have very weirdly scattered leaves.

But it look's very photoreal. Great picture!

Hi my friend, really nice work..You know my opinion..I love closeup on a rock..now I see a little "mistake" in the closeup with wall there is a sharp edge under bricks, there are no holes between bricks...maybe I´m not right ;) but I don´t see them...can you post wire? But it´s very realistic picture. I´m looking for other amazing works from you. 5 stars from me ;)

Petteer: thanks friend :bounce: víš nejlíp co s tim bylo práce

Staniol: thanks for constructive critics, I don´t think so, I don´t like bitmap leaves or grass, I like 3d, but in some cases is bitmap vegetation better, you´r right man:)

IcemanJ: thanks dude, yep, there is a little mistake in close up, ups:applause:

Some objects are little bit messy, because of insane amount of polygons I decided to use multires to reduce number of polygons, after unwrapping of course. :)

Man, I'm glad to see I'm not (besides the author) the only one, who laughes (through tears), seeing some frontpage "works"... Sometimes, we really need to think about it... Sometimes not... Well, let's move forward, the future's bright ;)

Well, thanks for support dudes, I really appreciate it :) You´re right, and I am not alone I think, there are many beautiful works, but what a pitty, are´nt plugged into frontpage, and no award (maybe), but what´s going on? I did this scene for you and me, for pleasure, to see something different, nice, not for frontpage etc.

Thanks all for your comments and critics i really appreciate it, thanks.

See you later in next scene from me

woah amazing. u sure its not a photo?? I'm wondering if you could maybe tell some more about the lighting setup and such. I haven't used maxwell renderer myself yet as i've heard it's god-awfully slow, but would there be some things about the scene that could translate to other renderers such as metnal ray?

Also, since maxwell is so very slow (I've seen renders that took days and were still really really noisy) I'm wondering how long this thing took to render? lol
