View Full Version : demo reel format, fps and size
Antonio79 06-15-2006, 06:32 AM Hello! I'm putting together my first compositing demo reel... now, I come from Italy but I'm in usa studying at the aau, so some of my shots are in pal, some others in ntsc. What's your advice? should I convert all the pal shots in ntsc? would that be ok if I keep the pal size but use a ntsc frame rate? I mean what if the size is 720x576 and 30 fps? would it look stretched on an american screen? also, what's the best way to convert the frame rate from 25 to 30 fps without affecting the speed of my shots? some of my shots are 25 and some other 30 fps so I need to make all of them the same. I found shake does a pretty good job but I was wondering if someone has advice about my problem :) thaks! Antonio

I'm no expert by far, but I think if you pop any of your footage into an NLE like premiere or final cut with NTSC settings (US Standard) It should convert them for you or you should have import options or something so it can convert it for you (ie fps should be auto, but size you may have to scale). You shouldn't have a hard time making it look good... experiment a bit and see what works best with your software.
