View Full Version : Condensation/sweating? How???
polygun 01-13-2003, 04:07 AM Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how achieving condensation/sweating or just plain water drops on an object...(like the attached image)
For the life of me I cannot come up with a good realistic solution for this. So, I turn to the pros.
Im using 3dsmax 5 by the way.
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it....
Thanks a million in advance....

i've done this once before myself, i did it with a particle super spray, assigned the object to be a deflector with almost no bounce, and applied a heavy gravity space warp to make it flow down and a sperical gravity to keep it on the object, it had heaps of issues and was extremely processor heavy as it was flowing down a characters head but it did the job, if it was flowing down something not as complex i imagine it would calculate much easier. then once the dynamics are done just apply a water texture to it. (also, the particle system used a piece of instanced geometry resenbling a water droplet, also you might want to consider using metaparticles, but that is another heap of work in itself i find) Hope this helps. :)
