Hi !
I wanted, for my first mattepainting, to create an environment mystical, and realistic for the background of my interactive artbook.
I started with a quick sketch which is a bit different with the final version (espacially for the arrangement of the moutains). But still the beginning i wanted to put some tall mystical statues in the landscape.
I found some pictures of Toltecs Statues (The Toltec Empire appeared in the Central Mexico area in the 10th century AD), and I put them in the composition using the references below :

I spent about 2 days working on it (4-5hours per day) on photoshop CS2.
Original size : 2713x1656 px @ 300 dpi
