View Full Version : Rendering Method: Mental ray disappears

Hi everyone!
when I have installed Maya 7 I had also the opportunity to use Mental Ray to render my scenes. For some days I havn't used Mental Ray, but now I opened Rendering Settings, and under the Popup appear only "Maya Software" and "Maya Hardware"; before there was also "Mental Ray" too... I don't understand what can I have modified. Similarly, also the Cloth module didn't appear under the popup on the upper left part of the window; I have loaded it from the Plugin Manager, but there there's nothing about Mental Ray.
Do you know how can I reactivate it?

Maya 7 doesn't always like to remember your plug-in preferences, and will arbitrarily turn plug-ins off from time to time.

Here's how to get mental ray back:

- In your top menus, go to Windows > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager...
- find the "mayatomr" plug-in in your list, and check off "loaded" and "autoload"

Check your render globals again, and it should be there.
