Amberpeople
My Middle Earth Race are called "Swamp Dwellers" in the common tounge.
They live in the large swampy areas around the "Dead Marshes" or whatever they are called in english.
The Swampdwellers are semi-intelligent, lizardmen. They are amphibious and can stay for a couple of hours under water.
They have their camps on giant water-lilies, where they have built
tents and huts out of whaterver the swamp can provide. Each tribe consists of 10-20 individuals. They are hermaphroditic and
can change sex if the need for it would arise
Their young are born as "eggs" and are developed outside their
bodies" The females grow up to three times big as the males when they are with egg. They are incapable of moving and are very vulvnerable at this stage, and demand large amounts of food. Each female can lay up to 20 eggs, which the males fertilize afterwards (yup that means no sex for the frog guys...sorry guys)
They communicate with hisses and clicks, and only in very simple sentences like; "I am hungry","danger","many big enemy" etc
They are very skilled hunters and hunt with spears/harpoons, big knives made out of bone or wood and blow-guns made of grass similar to bamboo. They are able to generate a very high amount of airpressure with their strong and long tounges. The darts are always poisoned with poison from swampanimals like snakes and frogs.
They have light armor made out of hides or shells of animals that live in the swamp. Obviously the have no weapons out of iron, as it would probably rust very quickly.
They do fashion some kind of jewelery out of amber which is abundant in the marches. The swampdwellers believe they originally come from amber, as the colour of their eggs are almost the same colour. Therefore they call themselves "Amberpeople"
They are very fierce warriors especially if their camps are attacked. They fear the spirits of the dead in the dead marshes.
There are some powerful evil spirits that still try to continue the battle of dagorlad through these lizardmen, pitting them against eachother.
