does anyone know if you can get solid edge models ( a cad program ) and put them into max. I know you can do it on maya but what about max 5 ?

Hey, dude.
Look to see if Solid Edge exports to .dxf, .dwg, .3ds, .obj. or some other format.
Look for import/export plugins and scripts here:
www.maxplugins.de
www.scriptspot.com
There is usually a way to get just about anything into max.
Give me a shout when you find out what the export formats are.
