View Full Version : Trying to develop a style
PSMouse 06-14-2006, 01:56 AM I've noticed a couple of my pieces have fallen into something resembling a consistent style. If possible I'd like something in the way of critique/tips to help me develop and improve it.
They're ordered earliest to latest.
All were done in photoshop in about 3-5 hours.

Before the style, i think, you should be tested a shematique approach.
Perpective, Anatomy, Colors, Lights, you can find, lots of tutorials and links in this forums.
The framework of a drawing is more important than the details.
2 littles examples of contruct :

Other one, observes the reality and tries to reproduce it
I hope that that will help you

Because the images are of a somewhat surreal nature I'm not sure if you're referring to the distorted perspective or inconsistancies in the perspective.
Without trying to sound defensive, the oddities in the pieces (the angle between the girl in the red and the street behind her; her face; the deformed nature of the creature in the second pic; that the woman is somehow standing shoulder deep in the bath) are actually intentional.
If I've misunderstood, I apologise; either way I would appreciate it if you (or anyone reading this thread for that matter) could perhaps highlight the specific aspects of the images that need work and suggest how I could improve both the images and my technique.

Afflicted if I were abrupt, it were not my intention.
I cannot help you more unfortunately,
I think the drawings should be defined, more built , but it is only my opinion. It is difficult to criticize at this point
Waits a little, another will perhaps be able
