hi all
i restart making a car(yes again...), and again a supercar concept, but this time would like it "ultimate"...
so this time will try to make a mix between a formula 1, a super Seven and a Hulme F1, but mainly influenced by the hulme for now. :)
anyway, here s what i have.
so, early stage, but C&C really welcome!

YAYA!Nice start man! What program are you using?

Loving that Tyre and Wheel! Care to give us a peep of the displacement or the bump or whatever texture is making that tyre look so sexy?!

Loved your last one! those 2 renders oready are making me intreaged! keep it up! :)

the model is made with lightwave, and rendered with max and vray.
for the tire, the tread is polygon, and the sidewall is a simple bump map(a very good map find on cg-cars).

lso, ittle update, with some modifications for the noze.

V-Ray is one of the best renders. I'm a Maya user and I'm learning Max just to learn V-Ray. Love the tires and wheels. No crits there. Looks promising!

thx igami

i have remake the roof and windshield, longer than the first one. and working on the body.
i will try to keep the shape i have made on the last car for the side window and the roof curve, to keep the "family" style.. :)
quick color render test, to see how that could look.

It's shaping up to be a beauty. I can't wait to see how this turns out. Definitely subscribed.

By the way, I just loved the way your last supercar came out.

Excellent work. I love car designs.

I'm amazed you modelled that tire in polys. I would love to know how :) It looks incredible.

How did you model the tread?

yan

thx for comments :)

for the tread, i make first the structure, clone it and after round it with the bend tools.
but i need to work a little on the middle of the tread, to avoid some bad tri polys.

Hi Yan
Very nice concept and awesome work. I love F1, I love Super Seven, I'll really enjoy the final result ! But...what on earth is hulme ? (you can reply in French if you want to)
BTW, the render of the wheel is fantastic !

thx FastForward :)

"It is Denny Hulme's success which has motivated Hulme Supercars Limited to make a New Zealand supercar in his honor.
Denny Hulme was champion of F1 in 1967.
The car features a modified BMW M5 engine joined to a specially designed transaxle, wrapped in a carbon fiber body."

so, little update, with some tweak on the body, and a change for the wheel, as they was in the wrong direction.... so now its fixed :D :D

Very nice! keep going.

The only thing i would say is, a car that cool looking needs some wild mirrors. The side mirrors look a little too common and could be a little more exotic. Maybe flowing with the car?

Nice car, definitively.

It remember me the trackmania nations cars :p
The only thing I don't like is the front windshield, don't know really why.

Good job !

Thanks Yan for the reply about Hulme. I didn't know of him until today.

About the windshield, I agree with cat-attack, something's weird : the windshield itself seems ok if I look at the right part, but the A-pillar ends too vertically. In a 3/4 front view it gives a strange feeling. It makes a kind of a crease at the bottom of the windshield which "breaks" a bit the nice flow of the body. Hope you understand my meaning (I avoid posting in French so that anyone can understand).

thx for comments guys. really appreciated.

so, for the mirror, on my last car it was a BIG problem.. seems its again the same for this one :)
for sure im not a good "side mirror designer"! ... :D
but i agree with you, look a little bit too much common, will try to make some new one more exotic as you said. :)

for the windshield, i "need" to have it like that to have the right place to add a pilot... but maybe(certainly...) some tweak are needed, and could resolve the problem.

does it gives you the same feeling with the other view?

so here s the render of the night, to see how that look for now. many things to do again.

The side view confirms my feeling : the pillar line would look better if parallel to the winshield line, IMO.

so, after a little break on it.. i have restart the beast.
the roof was re-made, less round, and the pillar line is now more parallel to the windshield, and think you re right FastForward, seems to look better. :)
new rearview mirror, not the best one, but better than the first one... :D
a larger and bigger rear wing, and some cleaning was made too;
next work: the front suspension and the rear body part.
C&C welcome
