 the grade of detail is impressive - no crits !

To me it looks like the wheels in the middle donīt touch the chain (or ground) - they just hanging around... maybe itīs just the angle !
Another thing is the texture (reflection) - looks great for a car body, but didnīt tanks looking matte ? An enemy will see the highlights trough every bush or forest :D

Nice piece anyway !!!

This one is really nice.
Like said above, you've got some heavy detailed tank there.

And yes, it reflects a bit to much to be a tank, it should have mud and skratches ;)

Keep up the good work :)

thanks for the comments guys

Bassit you are right about the wheels not touching the threads and the showroom car paint texture :). the threads will touch wheels in the animation stage , the gap between them is intentional.

as for the texture , its just a yellow blinn material , there are no textures on the model yet , I generally texture when the model is complete.

Pretty cool! I bet you could make a cool movie with that, like composite it into a city scene or something and have it rampage in downtown, destroying cars and trucks like toys...

Really nice model. I actually kinda like the metallic texture!
I know it's totally unrealistic, but hey, if you want realistic, take a photograph. I'm sure this will look great with some camo on it though.

If you intend to composite it into a war scene, it might benefit from having a little of it's geometry roughed up here and there. A few casual dents etc.

Great details!. The canon looks a bit different from what ive seen on tanks before. Is it a certain model your using for refrence? Looks a bit short. Heres a good site with some tanks and other goodies http://www.army-technology.com/

Show more! :D

heyy Ali, I just saw your work, sorry for that.

Really nice model, details. I like it :D

My only suggestion will be about texture. I would like to see an old tank with mud. Maybe some scratches on it. ohh yea and some sandbags on it, for protection:)

And for last I would love too see it in the street. Good work buddy, keep it up :D

I like it. As it's only 50% done I cant' realy comment on the textureing, etc. But there are a few things besides the wheels. The treads on the left do not seem to be connected. While the ones on the right do, there does not seem to be any connection detail. It looks at though they are just majicaly attached. Also perhaps it's the poor lighting underneath, but I dont see much of a gear box. Maybe this is why the lighting is underposed there? :)

I do like the model, and if I had to guess, i'd say it's russian, though I cant say I can recall this exact looking model from anywhere.

You are right about the threads , I could have connected them but that would have raised the poly count (which is already around 120000) , i'll use this tank in an animation so it'll be all motion blurred and unnoticable in the distance. thanks for pointing that out though :)

thanks for the blueprint links guys, i found some cool blueprints. i'll post an update this week.

As for the model of the tank i dont know what it is , i mix matched parts from different models :D.

thanks again for all the comments , you guys rock!

That is a beautiful tank! If i'm correct, I believe thats a Russian T-34, one of the most feared machines on the Eastern Front during the war. The sloped armor played hell with the German Panzer III's and other tanks, not to mention she had a much bigger gun than anything the germans had at the time...I think...I can't really remember, it's been a while since I looked over some of my notes.

Either way, that's a beautiful model!

Great looking tank Sheep Factory. It reminds me of the Russian T-60 light tank.

T-34s were feared til the Germans brought in the Tigers and Panthers. ;)

yeah, looks Russian indeed
I once started a T-34, but I couldn't be arsed to model all the detail and lost interest... :p
