View Full Version : object: gorde (shading test)
jscheel 01-12-2003, 07:44 PM This was my first project in my intermediate anim. class. He told us to model and shade a photorealistic gorde. We had three days. I used layered procedural texturing in Maya 4.5. Tell me what you think.

gorde is a gourd mis-spelled
Any of several trailing or climbing plants related to the pumpkin, squash, and cucumber and bearing fruits with a hard rind.

Thanks for the replies. There is a very small amount of specular highlight, but the source gourdswe used were very diffuse and matte. Also, my lighting setup is fairly equalized, so the highlights are spread out.
BTW, what are gourd's used for? I have no idea. They can't be for decoration, there're too darn ugly.

they were used as containers for liquids. When hollowed out and left to dry they become hard and watertight. I think you can eat them too, but they taste like shit.
