View Full Version : Digital matte critique
christian108 06-12-2006, 08:19 PM Hello I have recently finished two matte paintings which are to be used in a portfolio. I am going to animate them a bit and would like some critique if possible. I realize in the industrial slumscape image that the shanty houses look as if they were shot with a wide angle lens. Thank you for your input.

great pieces christian , very photoreal work, in the first one I noticed what you meant with those houses, in the far industry island, " the big one" I think a little moe atmosphere-aerial perspective is needed,
in the second one integration is awesome I like it a lot, some more houses or some details to the left would help a lot to the composition ( for foreground )
great job, I will look forward to see these images with animation

Thank you james for your input. I appreciate it. I have had a few suggestions from different proffesionals and they are all very good. I will incorporate yours as well. Similar replies seem to be to add something to the foreground in the mountain composition, and that the industrial landscape seems a bit desaturated or "cold" for the environment.
Thank you for your reply though. I appreciate it!

Great matte paintings. You have achived very nice mood congrats:) My only critic is that the foreground rubbles in the first picture seem to be more saturated apart from the general mood.Great work:beer:
