View Full Version : extruding faces together
Iysun 06-12-2006, 04:02 PM I am trying to extrude a bunch of connected faces on a mesh as one, but Maya keeps seperating each face on its own. In the Docs it says to select the option "keep faces together" in the extruding settings, but I dont' have this option for some reason in my settings.
I'm using maya 7.01
I am doing this... Edit Polygon > Extrude Faces
Anyone know why I don't have this option and even better how to get it working?

Metoc: Just turning it on once should keep the option turned on until it's turned off.

I expressed myself not good enough, excuse me.
In some situations I use Extrude Faces very often -- almost in series. I want and need to turn keep faces togehther on. So, every time I extrude, I've to change "keep faces together" to ON. Annoying.
I think the best way is, keeping this option turned on, is to write a litte MEL script, right?
thank you :)

Metoc, if you are using 'Keep Faces Together' from the Polygons > Tool Options menu then it should stay on until you turn it off.
(As opposed to doing it through the channel box).
