Absolute NOOBISH question

i've always wondered. when (in maya 5.0) you batch render your animation, you get a bunch of image files and then fcheck puts them together and makes the animation. How do you convert it into an .avi file or a .mov file???

get after-effects or combustion (u can use any compositing software).
import your render stills to time line and export/save/render as avi.

Try Jashaka or Avid free DV, they are both freeware
