hi everyone, I'm currently making a short animation for my Final Year Project. Critique welcome.
At the beginning of the school year, I have been trying very hard to find out the story for the animation which I'm going to make.
At last, I came up with an idea of reflecting myself as a computer animator. People in this field always have a desire to re-create human beings, especially the beautiful one.
So what I am going to do is to make a short movie telling the story of a lonely animator which I am quite familiar with…

Abstract:
Ever since 3D computer animation has become popular, its power of processing brings us the ability to be able to create “god things” or at least close to the reality. We start to make movies, commercial and short film by using 3D animation, we brings life to original character using 3D animation in much stronger way comparing with the traditional 2D animation.

Story:
The story is about an animator who uses the magic of 3D animation to give life back to his girlfriend for a short period of time.

Main character head - polygon modeling
The head is sculpted using box modeling, later move to sub-D to fine-tune.
First time to model human head, thanks to gnomon tutorial.

The Face texture:
Painted based on a Korean actor, who I think is the best actor I can find to be in this animation.http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a86/kimsuna/animan/face_color.jpg

The hand:
the hand is rather straightforward, I just took photo and paint it directly onto the UV.

Hair:
The hair is also polygon modeled. I made one piece and then duplicated it to make my desired hair style.

Eye:
I try to make them into seperate pieces hoping to achieve a rather realistic look...
as there are many facial expression in the animation, I think a good eye would help a lot later.

The girl character:

The girl is generated in Facegen and later modified in Maya.
well , the reason for using Facegen is ,
firstly, I'm running out of time.... and secondly( to rather support me) is that I want to have a look which is more computer generated girl model as the girl in this animation is modeled and keyframed by the Animan, as well as the scene except for the Studio.

The virtual City created by the character Animan.:

The Studio:
This is the Animan's working studio.Looks like a sound recording studio with a large open to look through to the virtual scene.
