I think your eye is good for anatomy, nut your proportions and form just are not. I would recoment that you get a book out from the library or even buy one(not such a bad idea as you will need it almost always if your gona get propa serious with this stuff).
On this model that hands really CG, ie fake.
If I was you, i would try to get my head round the topology stuff first, that get my self in zbrush, while your doing that, study some sculpture, here are some links, best of look mate
sculpt links ref: http://www.thais.it/scultura/default_uk.htm

Hey, Really good job!!
I thinks the proportions are very realistics! Its difficult see a body with real proportions, and you make one!
The only thing I see is the palm hand looks a little flat near of the fingers. But this is just a minimal detail.

Wow, I love the texture! Really nice with the lightning! I love the lips!
For the whole body, you said that you used a reference picture, can you post it? Because I agree that the proportions are quite strange... o.o... at some points... and are the black rectangles wanted? Because... well I find it odd to want to censor your model o.o..
Keep on the good work!

Hey nice progress, but is the black bar really necessary? I don't think you need to censor your model. As for the model, based on the photo reference you provided, I think you need to fix her eyes, they're kinda big. The lower part of the nose where it meets the upper lip looks too square and her ears too flat. can you post a wireframe?
TheJinj
09-09-2006, 04:19 PM
Here are my crits:
A) Nose bridge too thin (especially visible at top of nose)
B) More mass in upper lips (especially the sides, where it is not red lip skin).
C) More mass in nostrils and better nostril hole deformation (hope this sounds right). Too big now for sure.
D) Eyes are too big as others said
E) Bottom jaw too skinny.
Good luck, you are going in the right direction!
Keep it up.
PS: Sorry if too harsh. In these days of ZBrush everyone's expectations of realism in CG has shot straight through the roof.

Good job and the idea to create the environement is original.
But, it seems to me that you are victim of classical problem in 3d. The head of your character seems too narrow and it is probably the fact that the head of the girl photographed is less broad on the photograph because of the perspective…(The width of a head must make aproximativement 5 eyes.)
I found that if you first prepare a template of a face on a flat surface - like in PS, and then you take your frontal facial shot and place it over your template - adjust it to your template, then your 3d model will turn out more accurate.
Your proportions will be spot on and your facial features will also be spot on because you're still working off an photograph.
Thats my bit of advice for the day - the way I work in anycase.

The proportion of the body look good ,Can you post a screenshot of the body without wireframe?just to show the continuity of the surface.

Nice progress greatto. I think you could make the legs longer, and add more structure to both the hands and feet. The feet need a lot of attention, and are a tad too short. Find images of womens feet for that, since its hard to remember what they look like without reference. Well for me anyway.
VanDerGoes

Glad to see you're still on this!
I think the problem with your reference pic is that your lens was too wide. When you take ref pics, you need to stand as far back as possible from your subject and zoom in as much as you can. This will help with perspective distortion.
Your texturing looks great - keep at it!

great riging work, seems Joey assisted you well ^^. looking good, looking forward to your next update. agree with learner 88 on a testshot in the set, also, that could help to tweak the skin shaders refractionamont, actually, the shader's specularity could be more broken and when a little less blinnish and a little more sss, it prolly will look softer and more organic.
try to put a tad bit of red to the filtercolor maybe if sss takes too much time to render and put the diffuse map on a slight amopunt on the refraction slot, thats usually a fast way to fake sss :)

Hi, good work, but in my opinion there's something wrong in your shader. There is no subdermal scattering, only a big back scatter that gives that red halo in places that should not have it (this is very noticeable in the back, above the hips).
Check your model's size and scatter radius.
Keep it up!

The shader doesn't seem very good with that lighting, the skin seems like plastic..the eyes look strange too but i guess they are still wip!anyway with the door scene lighting ,the skin material looks fantastic!

Shortening the torso might be a good idea. I think that is what is making the legs apear to short. Also the neck needs some work. The sternocleido mastoid starts at the bottom of the head behind the jaw a bit and goes down to the center of the clavicle. And a second on the hands and knees as mentioned.
And you dont have to blur or censor your art. If you look around here you will notice alot of people post nude figures.
