View Full Version : Anyone! Please - Instancer and multiple shaders on geometry - NOT Working Properly???

Hey everyone i am encountering a major problem here.

When animated geomtery that has at least two shaders assigned is instanced onto particles it renders properly WHEN you leave the instancer's Cycle option to "None".

HOWEVER, as soon as you switch that Cycle option to "Sequential" it only keeps the color information of only ONE shader.

On top of that - the right look for the object appears on only one object from the cycle.

What am i doing or not doing ?!

I am giving away the files of a debug scene.

Please i have no idea why this happens...if you know you are more then welcome to drop a line in this thread.

Thank you very much,

Xavier.

I sure can't tell you what's wrong, but I tried using a Layered Shader instead of applying different shaders to different faces and it seems to works okay.
Could you do it that way instead?

When I open the CYCLE scene in Maya 7.0.1 on Windows, I get both shaders on all the instances.

What's your graphics card? Maybe it's a driver issue?

Also, if you render your scene, do the shaders show up all right? (if they do, then it's almost definitely a gfx card issue)
