Well as i don't know drawing a rough correctly, i'll show you my work progressively step by step.

My idea is to show you a contrast between beauty and its contrary... In fact to show external beauty is not often the proove of a internal as well.. So here's a beginning of modelisation, but in this one, you'll not able to judge my final idea. Anyway, i can jst give you a clue for the final image... ;) This first wip will be in a big part hiddent by something else ;) Keep in touch :) :)

thats very good for the first days work, impressed, I would love to see the approaches you took to make that thing that detailed in the short amount of time, also your idea was exactly what was running through my mind and I have a wierd feeling I know what you will be coming up with...... interested to see where this thread goes....... gl

ok so i explain right now, it will be less confuse ;)

I'm gonna put this skul in a woman mesh i still didn't do, and in fact a part of the face, will be transparent with a special texture. As done, the face would like nice but some part will let appear skull in it... The horns will be visible like in some sketch of medieval demons. Do you see the idea now ?

About time i spent on this mesh : 5 hours in a row... no drink, no food, no cigarettes... just Lightwave, me, myself and i... ;)

That certainly is a great idea.

rah meuh non einh!!! (ohhh no!)
t'arretes donc jamais? (you never have a break?)
tes nuits doivent etre courtes...;) (your nights must be short)
En plus c nickel, grrrr (i already told you : you are really fast. And it's great, grrrrrr)
bonne chance pour la suite! (good luck!)

rolhionjs
03-13-2002, 03:50 AM

My night are so short !! lol

so here's the mesh of the face, mixed with the skull... I applied on it a transparency texture of 30% but i'm not satisfate of the result... For now, this texture is not the final one, more a test texture... but gosh... if only i could put some transparency in some part only... Is it possible with lightwave ?

here it is :

your skull is great very detailled ...
for the transparency .. euh ...

I would like to find the solution, i'm sure it's possible, but i don't know enough Lightwave for that. I have to find that quickly...

J'adore mes traduc... me fends la gueule :) :)

if only i could put some transparency in some part only... Is it possible with lightwave ?

non?

03-13-2002, 05:01 AM
You could use a weight map or gradient with imput parameter incidence angle or BOTH! Any questions just ask.

Looking cool BTW

rolhionjs
03-13-2002, 04:25 PM
ok thanks alot for this great explanation !

I did it and then put a gradient in this transparency for the texture with angle incidence ! Got it, exactly what i needed :)

here's a small video of the result :

alot of details missed, but i understood the idea, so now it will be more easy for the rest of the modelisation. I'll be able to start the body now :) :)

rolhionjs
03-13-2002, 06:31 PM
Well i'll see details of texturing the head later, i have to construct the body, so here is the beginning :

Well here's the beginning of the low dress. First time for me i'm working on the drapes... gosh not so easy.. how is it ?

About the main idea of my modeling here's explanations :

Some people asked why this position for the model. Well in fact the arm is up and the head is looking for something or someone... but why ? Actually and my idea was to represent Satan or any other name he has, in the christian religion, just before leaving heaven, and going in hell... the thing is looking for is just his creator : God... He's becoming evil right now and the question he could ask would be : Why am i leaving ? why you god let me go down in hell ? so the future angle of camera will be the eyes of god looking Satan asking him : " look at me for the last time, and don't remember i'll be always here, ready to destruct all the thing you'll do..." Is it better for the understanding now ? :) :)

here's the drapes :

That's quite cool, The small vid.
I's cool to ee the transparency of the skin so you can see the skull. Your skull is also really great 'with the horn's and the smaller horn's going back on the head. ut aren't you suposed to see them to?
I'm going to ask the most dumbest question but I'm a totla newbie with 3D work. But which programm are you using.
I guess Lightwave but ain't sure.
:paint: I'll yould love to see the collored verion, if you are going to make one. I hope to see the update soon:thumbsup:

He man to bad you can't finish it.
I checkd your homepage, and it has a great layout.
Nice how the head turn's and then that the portofolio show's up. Maybe it is my fast connection but your head turn's really fast, It would be a lot nicer if it would turn les faster. Well maybe when you do that it will get to big ( the file size).
The sculpture thing in your portofolio looks cool first I thought it was a design of a controller for a new console.'
Looking forward to your next chalange design.
