View Full Version : Odd XSI 3 bugs
Dirk_P_Ho 01-12-2003, 02:02 AM Ok well, this happened on another project I was working on, they arent significant but very irritating.
1. New primitives are already subdivided (+ buttoned) multiple times when created. Very irritating to un-subdivide every new primitive.
2. Ppg's don't come up automatically when performing operations, creating primitives, or materials. This one bugs me the most. It makes creating materials for multiple objects virtually impossible.
Hope someone has an answer for me!
Thanks,
Dirk

You might be working in immediate mode. Make sure Immed is not toggled on.
Also, if you have a geometry approximation property applied on the scene root, it might cause the problem.

Might also be caused by the Immed mode.
It's also possible that Popup Property Editor on Creation is toggled off in the User Preferences.
Hope this helps

good call atyss.
but check this one out, dunno if it was fixed in 3.01 though. :
Maximize perspective
turn on headlight
get infinite light.
if you restore the viewport, the light model should pop to its proper infinit light icon form.
weird.

what do you mean with "turn on headlight", Zen?
what are the buttons that you click in XSI?
However, I think that the answer to question "1. New primitives are already subdivided (+ buttoned) multiple times when created." of Dirk_P_Ho is that he can just subdivided another object in his scene but not in local mode but in global mode, (I dont talk about local/global trasform).

Headlight is a feature introced in XSI 3. It consist of a light constrained to the camera. When you turn it on (into Viewport's Display Options) it turns off all lights in the scene to leave this one.
For the subdivision thing..... I really don't see how can an object be subdivided upon creation, except if the scene root as a geoapprox property.
Sorry didn't check if that bug thing is fixed.
